Setting Boundaries and Raising Self-Sufficient Humans without Being a Jerk
When we're trying to give our children freedom to be who they want to be, one of the most common objections is: "Are you worried about spoiling your child?" While we understandably bristle at such concerns, many unschoolers have struggled with trying to set logical limits inside the household for both the well-being of our children and our own sanity. In this discussion, James will share some strategies that he employs in both his camp setting and his household for helping children develop a sense of self-sufficiency and respect the needs of others without conventional authoritarian or condescending strategies. We're also going to open it up for a group discussion, so please bring your ideas as well!
