Starting a Homeschool Resource Center
AERO has been helping people find and start educational alternatives for 27 years! Among other things Chris Mercogliano and I lead an annual class for people who want to start new educational alternatives. One of our top recommendations is that people start homeschool resource centers. This gives a lot of flexibility, avoids school laws, but still gives students a more consistent opportunity for socialization (Yes, we know that most homeschoolers have plenty of that! : )). Examples of a few we have helped to start are Pono, in Manhattan, A Place to Grow, in Stroud, England, the Forest School in Canada, etc. In the workshop we will also take you quickly through the syllabus for the course. If we have time and there are some students in the workshop, I’ll demonstrate organic curriculum.
